They can be removed easily, have low  attenuation  and  are  equipped  with  protective  caps. The housing is made of black anodized aluminium. Hermaphroditic construction (no distinction between male and female) means the system can be extended easily. The screwed connection is a double trapezoidal thread. A  spe- cial feature of these lens plug connectors is the principle of radial expansion which makes them relatively insensiti- ve to dirt compared to direct plugs.
